The
Sancroft Vintage Leather Wingback Armchair

Dimensions: W92 x D105 x H110 cm

The Sancroft Vintage Leather Wingback Armchair is generously proportioned. Spacious and commanding, this chair is the epitome of antique elegance. The Sancroft is our largest sized wingback armchair. Upholstered in hand aged, top grain cowhide leather. Featuring an extra wide back, allowing for plenty of room to get comfy and even take a nap. The chair sits on four solid timber feet. The Sancroft is completed with a brass stud trim around the arms, back and base.

Wingback

The wingback offers both style and support, embodying a traditional design element with a modern twist. Its tall, enveloping shape provides a sense of coziness and privacy, perfect for moments of relaxation or deep conversation.

Brass Stud Trim

The brass stud trim adds a refined touch of sophistication to its design. Each stud meticulously placed along the edges enhances the visual appeal, creating a subtle yet distinctive accent that elevates the old-world aesthetic.

Solid Timber Feet

The hardwood timber feet are not just functional but also add a touch of elegance to its design. Stained in a two-tone brown color, these feet exude warmth and sophistication, complementing the rich tones of the vintage leather upholstery.

Premium Vintage Leather

Upholstered in premium top grain cowhide which epitomizes luxury and sophistication. Renowned for its exquisite quality and timeless appeal, this leather is meticulously selected for its natural markings, texture, and rich patina, which only enhance with age.

About the Leather

This item is upholstered in our signature, hand aged leather. We utilize only the best cuts of South American, top grain cowhide. The leather is dyed using natural, semi aniline dyes. Each piece has been hand-worked to give it a vintage look and feel. This includes signs of age like cracking and distressing. Every item will have its own characteristics and markings, making it unique. As this leather is hand-made, some colour variation can occur between pieces. Our leather is designed to age beautifully with time. For more information about caring for our leather products, Read Our New Blog: How to Care for Vintage Leather

Solid Timber Frame

Built with a solid timber frame to last the test of time. The feet are constructed from solid Birch wood. Birch is a beautiful, hardwood timber known for having an impressive strength and durability. You can be assured that the Sancroft Vintage Leather Wingback Armchair is constructed from the best quality materials and is a piece to be passed down from one generation to the next.

High Density Cushioning

The cushions are filled with premium quality, high density foam and duck feather. Multiple layers of foam are combined to provide supreme comfort and longevity. The foam has a high resiliency and will recover its shape after use. Feathers are used in the top layer to provide a soft feel to the cushion. The high density of the foam makes this piece suitable for use in a commercial setting with high volume use.

Care Instructions

With over 25 years experience in caring and repairing timber and leather, Dovetailed & Doublestitched’s Leather & Timber Care Instructions are a must-read for anyone looking to buy, care for, or restore beautiful pieces of furniture. All Dovetailed & Doublestitched products are for indoor use only.

Leather Care

Leather is a natural material which will last a long time, but only if maintained correctly. Leather should be cleaned and conditioned regularly (every 3-6 months) with a leather care product to avoid any drying out and cracking. We would recommend using a wax product like Beeswax. These are industry-recommended care products suitable for all types of leather and must be used as recommended. For furniture placed in high-use areas, clean and protect every 4 months. To minimise fading, avoid exposing your furniture to direct sunlight or heat. Dust and vacuum your furniture weekly. Wipe any spills off immediately with a soft damp cloth. Dye transfer between product / material can occur ans should be cleaned immediately with the recommended cleaning product. Ink and pen marks must be cleaned immediately with an ink removing cleaner specifically made for leather. It is common for leather to stretch with use and for seat foams to soften over time. Use of general household cleaning product, chemicals and abrasives are not recommended as they can break down the protective surface and cause damage to the leather.

Timber Care

At Dovetailed & Doublestitched, we offer a range of solid timber furniture to suit your individual style. Due to the nature of timber, you will find each piece of furniture has its own natural characteristics and patterns. No two pieces are ever the same, making a solid timber purchase a unique addition to your home. Dust with a soft, damp cloth. If polishing timber, use a non-silicone base polish. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight to prevent bleaching, discolouration or dying of the coated surface. Use heat resistant place mats under hot/cold food or beverages to avoid damage. Spillages should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth as soon as possible to avoid moisture damaging the coating.

High Gloss Timber Care

Ensure you use coasters on the surfaces to protect against scratches, heat or water marks. Water spills should be wiped up with a clean dust free cloth immediately. Loose dust can be easily removed with a soft clean cloth by gently wiping the surface of the furniture. Dust can scratch the surface so work carefully. Do not use a feather duster, as it may scratch the surface, and do not use polish that contains silicone or alcohol.

Upholstered Care

For upholstered chairs and sofas we recommend a simple vacuum every week. For touch stains use the services of a professional cleaning company. Dye transfer between product / material can occur and should be cleaned immediately with the recommended cleaning product.
